Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story est une trilogie de jeux vidéo Sega Saturn se déroulant dans l'univers fictif de Gundam, sortis entre 1996 et 1997. Le 27 août 1997, trois jeux ont été réédités dans un package de compilation sous le nom de Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story THE BLUE DESTINY. Les trois jeux vidéo MSGSS ont été publiés entre septembre 1996 et mars 1997, formant ensemble l'histoire complète de Blue Destiny. Plus tard, l'auteur de manga Mizuho Takayama a écrit une adaptation des jeux dans Haoh Magazine, intitulée Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story THE BLUE DESTINY, mais l'éditeur a fermé avant que l'histoire ne soit terminée. Bien qu'il soit principalement fidèle aux jeux vidéo, les éléments uniques du manga, y compris les nouveaux personnages, sont considérés comme non canon. TOKYOPOP a publié une traduction du manga en Amérique, intitulée Mobile Suit Gundam Blue Destiny. Les personnages et les Gundam du manga The Blue Destiny ont également été présentés dans le jeu GameBoy Advance "SD Gundam G Generation". Le 15 octobre 2002, la version romancée de Yuka Minakawa a été publiée par Kodansha.
