The RGM-79C Powered GM is a mobile suit weapon that appeared in the anime show Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. It was developed by the Earth Federation as part of their plan to rebuild their fleet after the massive casualties of the One Year War in the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
The Powered GM was a modified version of the standard RGM-79 GM, used as a testbed for new technologies. It was equipped with an enormously powered booster and improved legs to absorb the shock of hard falls. In the first episode of the series, a single Powered GM takes on three Zaku IIs in a Federation paintball exercise and easily defeats them.
However, the fate of the only two animated Powered GMs was far more tragic. During the opening attack of Operation Stardust on their Torrington Base, the Federation pilots were ambushed by battle-hardened Zeon pilots, resulting in the destruction of one Powered GM. The other, piloted by Dick Allen of the Burning team, pursued the Zeon attackers as they attempted to escape with a stolen Gundam prototype, but was ultimately destroyed by a Dom Tropen.
