The Gundam SEED MSV tradition is officially back. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV has begun serialization in the December 2026 issue of Monthly Hobby Japan, introducing two new mobile suit variations: the Rising Freedom CDE Type and Immortal Justice CDE Type.

New Variants With Fresh Settings and Custom Gunpla Builds

The new MSV project connects with the recent films Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO. Mechanical designer Kunio Okawara has created new special-specification versions of the film's mobile suits, while screenwriter Shigeru Morita is handling their official settings. Hobby Japan's modelers are also turning those designs into custom Gunpla builds for each installment.

The first chapter presents the Rising Freedom CDE Type and Immortal Justice CDE Type as simplified-production variants of their respective mobile suits. Preview images show HG-based custom builds with extensively reworked heads, new color schemes, and other detail changes that give both machines a distinct identity.
